Errands® by Caldera — Terms of Service

1. About Errands

Errands® by Caldera ("Errands", "the Platform") is a service marketplace operated by Caldera Technologies Limited that connects customers with vetted, independent service providers in Lagos, Nigeria.

2. Acceptance

By using the Platform, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

3. The Service

3.1 Marketplace Model

Errands is a marketplace facilitator. Service providers are independent contractors, not employees of Errands. We vet providers for quality and safety but do not directly perform services.

3.2 Service Categories

We offer services across categories including transport, hair and body care, and private home services. Available categories and pricing are displayed on the Platform and may change.

3.3 Service Requests

When you submit a service request, we broadcast it to qualified providers in your area. The first provider to accept is assigned to your request. You will receive a quote including the provider rate, platform fee, and any logistics charges.

4. Your Account

4.1 Registration

You may register using your phone number (primary identifier) and provide your name and email. Your phone number will be verified via OTP.

4.2 Identity Verification

For services where providers enter your premises, we require identity verification (BVN or NIN) and an emergency contact. This is a non-negotiable safety requirement.

4.3 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. We offer password, passkey, and biometric authentication options.

5. Payments

5.1 Pricing

All prices are displayed in the provider's specified currency (typically NGN). Quotes include: provider rate + platform fee (10-15%) + logistics fee (where applicable).

5.2 Payment Processing

Payments are processed securely through Stripe (international) or Flutterwave (NGN). We do not store your card details.

5.3 Refunds

If a provider fails to deliver the agreed service, you are entitled to a full refund. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5-10 business days.

6. Provider Conduct

All providers on the Platform are vetted and verified. If you experience any issues with a provider, please contact us immediately. We take provider conduct seriously and will investigate all reports.

7. Your Obligations

  • Provide accurate information when making requests
  • Be present (or arrange access) at the service location at the agreed time
  • Treat providers with respect
  • Report any safety concerns immediately

8. Limitation of Liability

Errands facilitates connections between customers and providers. While we vet providers and maintain quality standards, we are not liable for the actions or omissions of independent service providers beyond our marketplace obligations.

9. Dispute Resolution

If you have a dispute regarding a service, contact us at support@errandone.com. We will mediate between you and the provider. Unresolved disputes will be handled under Nigerian law.

10. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to you and may require renewed acceptance.
